Abu Dhabi

Our recent sojourn to the middle east has resulted in a stream of photos form Abu Dhabi. What a great place! The climate in winter is just like a warm summer in the UK, but it does get a bit hot in the summer months with temperatures reaching 52 degrees C. Fortunately the the buildings are air conditioned, all the cars are air conditioned as are offices, shops, buses etc.. so there is no reason to swelter outside in the sun. Long distance photography is restricted because of the sand and dust in the air; this is blown from the inland desert and there is no known technology to conteract the effect, so post editing is nearly always necessary on long distance shots. The light however allows for fast shutter speeds and small apertures, good for action and movement.
